Chafee Foster Care Program (ETV & Independent Living)

The John H. Chafee Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood provides flexible funding to help youth ages 14–23 successfully transition from foster care to independence. States may use Chafee funds for housing assistance, room and board, and other transition supports. Many states also use these funds to help young adults establish their first apartment through eligible room-and-board and household startup expenses.
